Goodbye dear (Babushka) Grandmother

Goodbye dear (Babushka) Grandmother

I can hardy believe that the time has come to finally say goodbye for the last time. Ever since I could remember, my grandmother would pray the same prayer before going to sleep and that was “Dear Lord, if tonight is the night you want to take me home to be with you, then I am ready.” One time when I was about seven or eight years old, I finally found the courage to spend the night at her senior center home. We had a wonderful day together and in the evening we said our prayers before bed (of course she had prayed her famous prayer) and she went to sleep. I on the other hand stayed up praying most the night, that the Lord would not answer her prayer and not take her home that night. Thankfully my prayer was answered and she lived that night and many more to come. Needless to say I never spent the night at her house again. Haha.

Kids, Chores and Money

Kids, Chores and Money

I get asked a lot about how we do chores around our house. So I thought I would share about it here. First of all, in our home we call chores, stations. I’m not sure why but the word chores felt so heavy to me when the kids were finally old enough and I introduced them to the concept. I thought about different options for a while, tasks, clean up, responsibilities etc. not sure how but I settled on stations.

What Easter means to me

What Easter means to me

I can’t believe this is my second or even third attempt at journaling about this. But that’s life for you.. kids, moods, priorities, procrastination etc.. things always seem to get in the way. I’m currently having my first cup of coffee that I’ve had in a very long time, not sure if it will help with my writing haha but I felt it was ok to have it while spending time with my Jesus and writing all about how amazing he is!

Life is a GIFT.

Life is a GIFT.

I want to take a minute and talk about the new abortion law in New York. First of all I want to make it clear, that I am absolutely pro-life. That does not mean I don’t care for the mother or family that might see it differently. In my mind and with with every pregnancy I had, my baby’s were as real to me inside my body as they were the moment each of them were born. I believe each life is sacred and an absolute gift.

January 2019

January 2019

Happy New Year! I haven’t officially said that to you yet, but we still have our Christmas tree up so I don’t think it’s too late.haha On one hand it’s so hard to believe that it’s already January but on the other hand, with how eventful my last few weeks were, I find myself wondering how in the world is it still January?? Nonetheless I am overjoyed in this new year! I love new beginnings, either it’s a new year, month, a Monday or another new day, I get so excited. And this year more then most, I feel that the Lord is doing something very special. I’m not even sure what it will be but he’s been showing me so many new things and answering prayers that I’ve prayed for years. Simultaneously he’s putting new dreams and prayers into my heart and taking me on new adventures!

Our famous mattress story

Our famous mattress story

Last night after we all got ready for bed, we gathered around in our room to journal. It’s been a while since Kyle (my husband) read through his old journal entry’s to us, so inspired by our oldest daughter (who had been reading his journal secretly) he went ahead and read a few stories out loud. Many of them were around the time each of the kids were being born, so they loved to hear those haha.

But one of them really caught my attention, again...after all these years and the many times we have told the story, it still gave me chills hearing him read it.

This story took place in Dallas, Texas,

Life with pets!

Life with pets!

In the midst of everything else that’s going on in my life, we currently have four pets and five baby kittens! The newest additions are just a few weeks old, they are so tiny! They have just opened their eyes and are learning to walk.

To begin with I’m not really an “animal person” I don’t enjoying touching them, I don’t like how they smell, I really can’t stand fur, haha etc.. So you’re probably wondering how in the world I’ve allowed all these animals in my house? That's a good question, and it's a good thing that I have stories for you!

Staying the course when things get tough

Staying the course when things get tough

Although I’m super positive about life and all that goes on in my daily routine. I do have hard days and even weeks just like everyone else. Sometimes it’s easier to hide out and just wait for all to be fine again, instead of opening up and being honest. Last week when I hit what felt like rock bottom, I actually fell right into my dearest Heavenly Fathers arms. The strength, love and rest I experienced is totally worth sharing about.

In the month of August I battle a headache that lasted pretty much all month.

Summer 2018

Summer 2018

It's still so hard to believe that we are heading past the half way point in the year of 2018. It's been a great year so far and I'm excited for what's ahead. Most people find it surprising that I get so thrilled about school starting up again for my kiddos, being that I homeschool. But I do enjoy having somewhat of a schedule and watching my kids learn so much each year brings me joy. We're officially a week into the new school year and before the routine really kicks in, I thought I would jot some summer memories down.

End of the year wrap up

End of the year wrap up

Hey there! I have been slightly disconnected on here lately. When I get busy or overwhelmed, usually the first thing to go is social media and writing. But my thoughts and prayers are always with you guys. I just snuck away from the family watching a Christmas movie, I really don't feel like I have a whole lot of insight to share. So if you don't mind I'll just share a little bit of this and that and what's been happening around here lately.

Cabin Life

Cabin Life

It's been a year already since we moved here to South Carolina from Hawaii! I still cannot believe how fast time flies. This has been a wonderful year for our family, we've made so many new friends, memories and had many wonderful adventures together. The biggest one has probably been, living in a tiny log cabin. It is about six-seven hundred square feet, two bedroom and two bath.

We have loved living here! The first few months we all bunked in the same room
